About Pinster

Pinster Owner - Jodi Lewis, Toronto Pride 2003 Photo by Andries Boekelman

Jodi Lewis is the owner and creative force behind Pinster, formerly known as ButtonsNButtons, a Toronto-born button company rooted in art, music, community, and DIY culture. Jodi began making buttons in 2001 with a close-knit group of friends in downtown Toronto, inspired and mentored by button-making pioneer Joly McFee of Better Badges UK. Back then, button making was more than a business it was a creative movement. Long days were spent designing and pressing pins together before heading out to Queen or Church Street to vend handmade buttons as part of Toronto’s vibrant street art and alternative culture scene. While the original group eventually went their separate ways, Jodi continued building the craft into a lifelong passion.

In 2010, that passion evolved into a small family-run business creating custom photo buttons on the spot at festivals, community & corporate events across the GTA including Pride, World Pride, BuskerFest, Doors Open Toronto, Night markets, Big on Bloor and brands including Sobeys, TD and City of Toronto. Today, Pinster operates primarily online, producing custom buttons and wearable merch for businesses, artists, musicians, and independent creators, with a focus on small-batch production and creative collaboration. Alongside custom work, Jodi is expanding Pinster into a growing collection of fun, artistic wearable pins, with plans for a future button mail club for devoted pin lovers who see buttons as tiny pieces of art, identity, and connection.
